Nice product: The handle has a pleasing heft and is the proper length. The brush is a little softer than what I am used to, but it fluffed up nicely after a few uses. It beats up billows of lather using my bay rum glycerine based shaving soap and cup. The stand presents the items well. I wish a bright brass and ivory stand and handles were offered as an alternative because my lavatory faucet handles are brass.

| This shave set was just what I wanted. Simple yet stylish. Most important is the capability of the excellent brush and razor. Good shave soap is superior to anything that squirts out of a can so that combined with this set makes for an enjoyable excercise and a great shave. |

| This is a good brush and razor combo but the stand has minor flaws. The brush is soft on the face, comfortable to hold and works quite well. The razor is of a good weight and despite the very smooth design handles quite well. The problem with the stand is that it leaves a 'rust ring' on the counter so I recommend using a coaster or being prepared for the periodic cleaning. There is no external rust on the stand and the problem is clearly resulting from the base interior not having an appropriate treatment or finish...but for the price would you really expect it? You can spend a lot more on just a brush but with this stand you get convenience, save valuable counter top real estate and have a nice looking shaving station. Next time I will probably increase my budget for a more expensive setup, but for an 'entry level' approach to brush shaving this is an economical and pleasing start point. |
